Community Walk Audit

Join Us: Community Walk Audit on Encinitas Blvd – March 21
How safe and comfortable is Encinitas Boulevard for people walking?
Join Strong Towns Encinitas and Village Encinitas for a community Walk Audit on Saturday, March 21. Together we’ll walk short segments of Encinitas Blvd and observe how the street works for pedestrians, older adults, families, and people using mobility aids.
A walk audit is a simple but powerful way for residents to document safety concerns, identify barriers, and highlight opportunities to make our streets safer and more welcoming for everyone.
During the walk, we’ll look at:
- Dangerous Crossings
- Missing and Damaged Sidewalk Surfaces
- Long Crossing Distances
- Poor Lighting
- Bus Stop Access
- Bike/Ped Conflicts
Participants will have the opportunity to share observations and ideas to inform future sidewalk and roadway improvements.
Date: Saturday, March 21
Time: 9:00 am – 12:00 pm
Location: Parking lot east of California Pizza Kitchen
This event is free and open to the public. Please bring water, snacks, and sunscreen, and wear good walking shoes and a hat, as it may be warm, and we’ll be out for a couple of hours in the mid-morning sun.
Let’s work together to make Encinitas streets safer, more accessible, and more enjoyable for everyone.
