DESCRIPTION:Join Us: Community Walk Audit on Encinitas Blvd – March 21 \nHow safe and comfortable is Encinitas Boulevard for people walking? \nJoin Strong Towns Encinitas and Village Encinitas for a community Walk Audit on Saturday\, March 21. Together we’ll walk short segments of Encinitas Blvd and observe how the street works for pedestrians\, older adults\, families\, and people using mobility aids. \nA walk audit is a simple but powerful way for residents to document safety concerns\, identify barriers\, and highlight opportunities to make our streets safer and more welcoming for everyone. \nDuring the walk\, we’ll look at: \n\nDangerous Crossings\nMissing and Damaged Sidewalk Surfaces\nLong Crossing Distances\nPoor Lighting\nBus Stop Access\nBike/Ped Conflicts\n\nParticipants will have the opportunity to share observations and ideas to inform future sidewalk and roadway improvements. \nDate: Saturday\, March 21 \nTime: 9:00 am – 12:00 pm \nLocation: Parking lot east of California Pizza Kitchen \nThis event is free and open to the public.
